I am Domanike!

I received this journal on February, 25, 2011. There was a random knock at the door and then they disappeared. No explanation of who left the gift bag containing this journal, 2011-2012 calender, and a vinyl zip pouch. 

I looked the bag over and over to see if I could find a tag addressing who the bag was for but I could find one. When I emptied the bag there was a small sheet of paper in the bag with the name “Domanike” written on it.

I screamed, I cried, and I prayed because during that specific time, God was really revealing a WHOLE lot of Himself at one time, as far as my spiritual gifts go. Very overwhelming! So anyway, I had no clue why my name was spelled that way…originally spelled “Dominique”. Then I heard God say, “Look it up.” So I did. 

“Domanike” means “belonging to God” Origin: Modern. 

“Dominique” means “belonging to God” Origin: French

Same name. Same pronunciation. Same meaning. Different origin!

It still didn’t make sense to me of what was happening. What did any of this have to with anything is what I kept asking. Why is this important? What am I to take from this? I mean, I cried and cried because this was just another addition to what had been happening with me spiritually.  

I kept asking God “Why?” I couldn’t let it go. Finally God answered and said “I am giving you a new name. Today’s generations MUST know that you belong to me. You are mine! The change of spelling and origin confirms what you have always been…MINE!“ 

And there it goes. He has revealed much more to me on this subject but this is a gist. Crazy thing is a couple of days prior to this I was expressing to a friend, that I needed a journal to record what God says to me. And another funny thing is that my best friend said a couple days before this happened “Girl He gon’ change yo name” (She’s ghetto! LOL j/k) But it was during a mist of one our L O N G conversations and it was a joke then…but look at God! The one friend doesn’t know where I live and I was on the phone with the other when all this happened…Shows how much power is in the tongue huh…
